Home View is a personal TV dashboard. Google data is used to show your own tasks on your own dashboard. This public information website does not connect to your Google account.
Information Home View accesses
With your Google authorization, Home View reads Google Tasks lists and task records. It uses unfinished task titles, list names, due dates, status, identifiers and parent-task relationships to display and organize your tasks. Notes and linked resources may be returned by Google but are not retained in Home View’s saved task snapshot. Basic email identity is used to verify that the intended Google account was connected. Home View does not receive or store your Google password.
Calendar events come from separately configured read-only calendar feeds. This Tasks connection does not grant permission to change your calendar. Weather uses a configured city or ZIP-code location, rather than a request for live device-location permission.
How information is used
Task data is used only to display your personal task list, due-date labels, filters and task counts. Email identity helps prevent an unintended account from being connected. Home View does not create, complete, edit or delete Google Tasks.
Storage and security
Task snapshots, calendar data and preferences can be cached in the app’s local storage. Setup files and the read-only Google refresh credential are kept in private files on the setup computer and can be included in the owner’s private TV installation package so the TV can refresh directly. These files and packages must be kept private. They are not uploaded to this information website. Local storage and installation packages should not be treated as encrypted storage.
The app communicates with official Google authorization and Tasks endpoints using HTTPS. The local preview uses a service on the setup computer; its browser interface does not receive the Google refresh credential. An installed TV app may use that credential directly with Google.
Sharing and third parties
Home View does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, profiling or training AI models. It does not provide task or calendar data to this public website. Google processes authorization and API requests under its own policies. Separately configured Google Calendar feeds and Open-Meteo weather are used for their displayed features. This information website has no analytics or advertising scripts; its hosting provider may process ordinary web-request information to deliver and protect the site.
Home View’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Cached task snapshots remain until replaced by later refreshes or removed by the owner. You can revoke Home View’s Google access through your Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized reads but does not remove existing local copies. Remove the app’s local data, setup snapshots, private connection files, installation packages and any backups to remove those copies. Clearing app storage removes its cached readings and preferences; bundled data remains in any retained installation package.
Visibility and your choices
Hide personal info removes task and calendar details from the displayed dashboard. It does not revoke Google access or delete stored copies. Choose what you display with awareness that other people in the room may see the TV.
Questions and updates
For privacy questions, contact the app owner through the support contact shown on Google’s Home View permission screen. Changes to data handling will be reflected here with an updated date.
